School Nurse Superpower Nominees

Joanne is an exceptional school nurse who works within the skilled school setting with special needs students, who require a knowledgeable/skilled nurse to assess/provide care to the students. I've known and worked with Joanne for many years, as we both worked as child/adolescent psych nurses in the hospital before becoming school nurses. Joanne was my preceptor last summer, as I needed to complete hours for my school nurse certification for my program. Joanne went above and beyond teaching me the roles of the school nurse, especially focusing on the legal side of school policies and state guidelines as the role of the school nurse. Joanne helped me gain knowledge and confidence for me to provide such skills and expertise to provide care to the students/staff within the school building I work at.
