School Nurse Superpower Nominees

Donzlynn demonstrates true “superpowers” through her unwavering commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our entire district. She consistently goes above and beyond her role, not only caring for students in moments of need, but also building systems and opportunities that strengthen our schools as a whole. Her leadership and organizational skills are evident in the coordination of multiple district-wide initiatives, including health and wellness fairs that bring meaningful resources directly to our students and families. She is also an innovator, proactively learning new systems such as SNAP and supporting staff across the district in navigating and implementing this platform. Donzlynn’s ability to connect people and build partnerships is exceptional. She established a Youth Health Advisory Committee and has worked collaboratively with community partners to expand opportunities for students. Through these efforts, she has helped bring forward initiatives such as Youth Mental Health First Aid training, Behavioral Health pre-apprenticeship opportunities, and career readiness pathways. Perhaps her greatest superpower is her presence. Whether responding in times of crisis or supporting students and staff in everyday moments, Donzlynn remains calm, compassionate, and steady.
