2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Tricia Conklin, Southwestern Central School District, New York |
Tricia truly has nursing “superpowers” because she shows up every single day with skill, compassion, and an unshakeable commitment to our students. In a fast-paced high school environment, she manages everything from medical emergencies to daily health needs with calm confidence and remarkable professionalism. Her ability to think quickly, problem-solve on the spot, and keep students safe and supported is nothing short of extraordinary. Tricia is also a vital member of the Student Support Time team, where her impact extends well beyond the health office. She plays a critical role in identifying and supporting students who need additional resources—particularly related to mental health—and works closely with families to connect them with supports both in and out of school. Her collaborative approach helps ensure students receive comprehensive care, and her advocacy makes a meaningful difference in their well-being. What truly sets Tricia apart is her heart. She treats every student with dignity, patience, and genuine care, creating a space where they feel seen, heard, and safe. Whether she’s supporting students through chronic health challenges, helping them navigate mental health needs, or offering reassurance in difficult moments, Tricia consistently goes above and beyond. She is a trusted presence for students, staff, and families alike—and our school community is stronger and healthier because of her.
