School Nurse Superpower Nominees

Amy's nursing superpowers include passion, support and leadership. Amy has a passion for serving the students in her school but also helping to build and empower success for newly hired school nurses. As part of her commitment, she started a mentorship program for new school nurses. Amy noticed that school nursing used to be a career that was hard to come by, but now it is hard to keep nurses in this field. While this disheartened Amy, she knew she needed to provide support and compassion to newly hired school nurses in her county. To support this, she started a mentorship program where she meets every two months with new nurses who have less than three years experience in the field. She actively listens to the needs of the new nurses and plans educational opportunities to help build upon skills that these nurses need to be successful. Amy's leadership as a mentor has been powerful to the success of new nurses and ensuring that their voices are heard.
