2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:
| Bill Patterson, Hawaii, Hawaii |
It is an absolute privilege to nominate Bill for his tireless advocacy and visionary leadership in establishing a comprehensive school nursing program. Bill’s dedication goes far beyond the standard scope of a consultant; he has become the primary architect for a healthier future for our students. Bill’s passion for student healthcare is evident in every initiative he champions. He operates with a deep-seated belief that health and education are inextricably linked, and he has made it his mission to ensure that no student’s learning is hindered by a lack of accessible medical support. His advocacy for a formal school nursing program is not just about staffing—it is about creating a safety net that allows every child to thrive. One of Bill’s greatest strengths is his collaborative spirit. He has been instrumental in bridging gaps across the island, working seamlessly with fellow school nursing professionals to share resources, align best practices, and create a unified standard of care. This "rising tide lifts all boats" approach has strengthened the entire professional community and, by extension, the quality of care provided to students island-wide. Bill is a fierce advocate, a knowledgeable expert, and a compassionate leader. His work has laid the groundwork for a program that will impact our community for years to come. He is truly deserving of this recognition.
