Erin Miller RN

2026 School Nursing is my Superpower Nominee:

Erin Miller RN, Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, Georgia

It's the little things she does every day, the consistency of hard work, and the opportunities she has to advocate for others that fuel Nurse Erin Miller's drive for raising the bar for school nurses. After joining our team I 2019, Nurse Miller quickly established herself as a trusted, competent, compassionate healthcare professional deeply invested in changing her corner of the world.  During her time as a school nurse, Nurse Miller has consistently demonstrated a level of practice that reflects commitment to the delivery of optimal healthcare. When asked what she was most proud of in her school nurse career, Nurse Miller noted being proud she had identified symptoms that led to a cancer diagnosis for one of her students.  Making this kind of difference is not unusual for Nurse Miller. She has embraced an unknown number of opportunities for securing healthcare resources for her students. Not only a supporter of her students, Nurse Miller has also provided support to staff members and our team as well. She served on community vaccine teams during COVID-19, led her site COVID team and served the district as an Interim Cluster Nurse during a time of crisis for the District. Through the years, Nurse Miller has researched healthcare topics and shared opportunities for growth with the team. She has also been generous with her technical skills, frequently providing guidance and suggestions for streamlining data collection. Most recently, Nurse Miller's work was recognized by author Lid'ya C. Rivera (I Absolutely , Positively LOVE MY SPOTS) during Black History Month after Nurse Miller's door decoration championing differences was seen by the author. For her work at school and in the community, for her above and beyond work ethic and the manner in which she approaches her work with professionalism, integrity, commitment and love...for this and so much more, Nurse Erin Miller is being nominated for the superpower of being ABOVE THE BAR!!
